15 Pakistani Films On Netflix

After Rangreza, Balu Mahi, Teefa In Trouble etc. there will be 2 more Pakistani films which will be available on Netflix i.e. Chupan Chupai and Abdullah. Pakistani filmmakers are starting to understand the significance of sharing their content online on video streaming platforms. Earlier the filmmakers were reluctant to release the content online for international audience to view. The trend is very positive but then again, selection of films which is available on Netflix by Pakistani filmmakers are still below average. And here I am talking about films like Rangreza, which was a disaster at the box office. Following is the list of Pakistani films which are available on Netflix;

If you look at the list of these movies, and in case you’ve watched all these films, you will see that only 3 – 4 films available on Netflix are good, and remaining are below average and offer crappy content which was bombarded at the box office, which signifies that in terms of entertainment and creativity not good films are available at Netflix. This is not a positive sign for an entertainment industry of a country which is known for its inspirational dramas from 70’s to 2000’s and even a few dramas are still loved by the foreign audience.

Pakistani Films Which Shouldn’t Be On Netflix, But They Are:

Rangreza Pakistani Film

What kind of impact will films like Pari (where Gregory Peck was shown as the Trustee of a hospital in Swat, in a framed picture), Rangreza (a film with weakest screenplay, storytelling and performance), Chalay Thay Saath (where narration and direction was not even passable), Chupan Chupai (a rip-off of Sodhu Kavum) and a few others will have on international audience?

Pakistani Films Which Should Be On Netflix – But They Aren’t:

Manto Movie Pakistani

It’s high time that well-made Pakistani films like Manto, Cake, JPNA series, NMA series, Pinky Memsaab, Arth, Punjab Nahi Jaungi, Karachi Se Lahore and such others are made available on Netflix, so that world can know that Pakistani cinema is capable of making good films which have both mass and class appeal associated with them.

Cake pakistani Cinema

Creating good content is the key in today’s time. In Bollywood we have seen that films with impressive and unique content along with reasonable performances did surprisingly well, in the year 2018, whereas films which featured superstars and box-office kings drastically bombed. This proves that audience is getting smarter and they need good films. A note to Pakistani filmmakers, who are still making films which offer neither entertainment nor intellectual delight.
