Khalil Ur Rehman Qamar needs no introduction; he is one of the finest and accomplished writers in Pakistan. The trailer of Khalil Ur Rehman Qamar’s upcoming film titled Kaaf Kangna just released and it looks quite good. I repeat, it LOOKS good. It’s quite difficult to say if the content and performances will be good or not. Kaaf Kangna features Sami Khan, Eshaal Fayyaz, Ayesha Omar, Sajid Hassan and a few others. Khalil Ur Rehman Qamar decided to release the film on Eid Ul Azha 2019. Kaaf Kangna will compete with Paray Hut Love, Superstar and Heer Maan Ja.

From the trailer Kaaf Kangna looks a little weak because of many reasons. The film reminds of the plots of films like Tere Pyar Mein and Veer Zara; I genuinely wish that Kaaf Kangna has more to offer than strong similarities between the two mentioned films or others. Sami Khan’s dialogue delivery reminds of Shahrukh Khan’s from Pardes; he needs to bring some freshness, his romantic dialogue in Wrong No. 2 sounded like Shahrukh Khan’s Kal Ho Na Ho’s speech from the diary. Another major drawback which I can point out in the trailer is the diction of many actors along with the unnecessary forceful dialogues and expressions. It looks like everyone is trying to push dialogues than speaking them out with realistically.

Another thing that the trailer of Kaaf Kangna is stuffed with is the stereotypical notions. From the names to dialogues, and from the treatment to phrases they all look forced, unneeded and sort of pushy. For instance:

Jiss Saalay Ko Jaan Kay Jaanay Ki Parwaah Hoti Hai, Uss Per Mohabbat Jaaez Nahin Hoti…

(Kehna kia chahtay ho?)

Iss Haveli Per Mohabbat Ka Shraap Hai

You can imagine how the dialogues be like.

Cinematography looks decent and music might make its way as Sahir Ali Bagga has a record of producing good music previously. There’s an item song as well filmed on Neelum Muneer, she’s looking hot in it and she’s dancing nicely. Although the way the song is filmed is quite cliched.

I am a huge fan of Khalil Ur Rehman Qamar and his writing from Landa Bazaar, Boota From Tuba Tek Singh, Pyare Afzal and Punjab Nahi Jaungi; I wish Kaaf Kanga all the best but trailer is kind of a bummer, I’ll keep my fingers crossed for content and performances.
