There are very few chances of falling flat on your face when you work with your regular and handpicked team with whom you have always been comfortable working with. Fizza Ali Meerza and Nabeel Qureshi both seem to play very safe and that’s probably one of the reasons why in their 4^th film Load Wedding (after Na Maloom Afraad, Na Maloom Afraad 2 and Actor In Law) they signed Fahad Mustafa in fourth consecutive movie along with Mehwish Hayat (for the 3^rd time). It looks like in future; Nabeel and Fahad want to be known as Sooraj R. Barjatya and Salman Khan Combination. Anyways, let’s see what Load Wedding has to offer to its audience on this Eid!

Load Wedding Trailer:

Load Wedding revolves around Raja (Fahad Mustafa) who loves Meeru (Mehwish Hayat) since childhood but never had the courage to express his love for her. She marries someone else and soon after her wedding, her husband dies and Meeru becomes synonymous to ill-luck and people from her neighborhood decide to not to have any affiliation with her. When Raja gets to know about it, he gathers up all the courage and proposes to Meeru. After a huge family drama they both get married and that’s exactly where audience witness interval. What happens next is a mix bag of emotional drama, overly stuffed social policing and moral preaching with a dash of dig on one of the most popular anchor persons of Pakistani TV shows with a climax that’s really impressive.

Performance wise, Fahad Mustafa is a revelation; he is intense, very believable and completely transforms in to the character of Raja. This is one of Fahad Mustafa’s strongest films in terms of performances. Fahad Mustafa surprises in Load Wedding. Mehwish Hayat looks radiant, beautiful and expresses her emotions with her eyes – which is something to praise about. Mehwish equally lends support to match Fahad Mustafa.

But besides all these characters and performers, it is Fahim Khan (who plays Aashiq Rafaquat) who takes audiences on a joyride. Fahim gives a performance which makes audience laugh, smile and even makes them angry because of the way he manipulates things. Fahim Khan is one actor who takes the load of boring, dull and stagnant Load Wedding on his shoulders and brings to another high point of the film that is its climax. It won’t be wrong to say that minus Fahim Khan and the climax from Load Wedding and there won’t be anything to remember about the film; nothing substantial.

Nabeel’s Load Wedding is one of his mature works, undoubtedly; but he invests more in preaching than entertaining his audience and creating an emotional connect of characters with the audience. There are numerous scenes when actors are crying and delivering dialogues with teary eyes but audience doesn’t feel that gloom and grief. The biggest issue with Load Wedding is that it fails to create a connection with its viewer. Plus, the way Murree is shown through chromatography is bogus and torture to eyes.

The music of Load Wedding has nothing much to offer; these songs don’t offer repeat value. As far as the script of Load Wedding is concerned it gets boring in the first half and gets better post interval and becomes brilliant during the climax. The nagging sister of Raja reminds us of Bushra Ansari’s character from 1991’s sitcom’s Guest House’s episode where a couple was constantly hassled by husband’s sister on their honeymoon.

All in all Load Wedding has its pluses (20 minutes of Fahim Khan with 15 minutes of climax) and minuses which include a number of things from zero emotional connect to rushing in to unneeded scenes and from weak music to a stretched story storytelling.
