It has been seen that Pakistan Film Industry offers multiple releases on Eids. Major filmmakers and film stars flood their films in the market. The same thing is happening for the past few years, films like Wajood, Na Band Na Baraati, Azaadi, Parwaz Hai Junoon, Load Wedding and Saat Din Mohabbat in are all those Pakistani films which released on Eid (Eid Al Fitr and Eid Al Azha). This year as well, 2 major films are releasing on Eid i.e. Wajahat Rauf’s Chhalawa and Yasir Nawaz’s Wrong No. 2. The entire idea behind releasing any film on Eid is to receive a mammoth footfall and it is also witnessed in Bollywood for the last few years it is Salman Khan who releases his films on Eid and Aamir Khan and Shahrukh Khan go for Christmas and year-end release. Anyway, let’s see what these two upcoming Pakistani movies have in store for its audience.

Chhalawa Trailer:

Chhalawa seems a romantic comedy with family drama written all over it. If we talk about the last two movies of Wajahat Rauf, they were light-hearted films with high dose of fun and humor elements. There was a mixed response from the public – the general audience, a few really liked those movies and a few found them brainless forced comic-capers. Wajahat Rauf also released Pakistan’s first web-series Enaaya with the same team i.e. Mehwish Hayat, Azfar Rehham and Asad Siddiqui but couldn’t get good response on that, this makes the upcoming film Chhalawa a little doubtful in terms of performing good business at the box office.

Enaaya Review:

We can only hope for a better outcome for the filmmakers and their entire team. Besides stark resemblances from multiple previously released Indian and Pakistani films, Chhalawa will hugely rely on its content as the film lacks the star-power, besides Mehwish Hayat there isn’t any rock-solid name which can drive traffic to the cinema, so the content and over-all treatment need to be flawless in this very example.

Wrong No. 2 Trailer:

Wrong No. by Yasir Nawaz did fairly well and masses liked the film but one cannot say the same with conviction for his 2^nd film Mehrunisa V Lub U. With Wrong No. 2, Yasir Nawaz is again experimenting by casting Sami Khan (whose last film Gumm was bombed at the box office) who has not yet proved himself as the crowd puller for cinema’s audience and Neelum Munir who also struggling to make her mark in the Pakistani Film Industry.

From the trailer, film looks out and out comic entertainer, as far as the quality of the humor is concerned that cannot be commented upon yet, until the movie releases. With repeat cast like Danish Nawaz, Javed Sheikh, Yasir Nawaz and others it will be decided after the release what Wrong No. 2 has to offer to its audience. It is expected that besides Sami Khan and Neelam Munir, Yasir Nawaz and Sana Fakhar will be playing pivotal characters in the film and might give the film an emotional angle aside romantic and comic track.

Let’s hope with these films quality of Pakistani cinema uplifts. At the end of the day it’s always about content, treatment, execution and quality that any film offers to its viewers leaving them nothing but thoroughly engaged and entertained.
