The story of Teefa in Trouble revolves around Teefa (Ali Zafar) who wants to get rich by hook or crook and for this he works for Butt (Mehmood Aslam) who pays him for doing illegal things. One day Butt gets to know that his old friend Basheer aka Bonzo (Javed Sheikh), who’s now settled in Poland, wants his daughter Anya (Maya Ali) to marry his business partner’s son and not Butt’s son. Butt becomes furious and orders Teefa to go to Poland and abduct Bonzo’s daughter. What happens when Teefa reaches Poland is what Teefa In Trouble about.

Ali Zafar gifts himself a powerful Launchpad. There’s action, romance, comedy, dance and stylish walk with swag – exactly how 80’s films’ heroes used to be projected on-screen. Teefa In Trouble is easily one of the most masala-oriented films which Ali Zafar has ever done in his entire career mainly because he is the main-lead in his Pakistani debut unlike his Bollywood films Kill Dil, Mere Brother Ki Dulhan, Dear Zindagi or Chashm-e-Buddoor. Ali acts well and in every scene he looks the “Star” sans the “character” Maya Ali looks gorgeous, she’s photogenic and has all the right elements to stay in the film industry. With a debut like this Maya has a long way to go.

Javed Sheik is good, as usual; when he transforms his accent to Punjabi he is brilliant. Mehmood Aslam is wonderful at a few places, mostly when he gets angry. Faisal Qureshi’s punch lines are refreshing and entertaining. Nayyar Ejaz is good as the villain.

Direction of Teefa In Trouble is grand. There are many scenes which are larger than life and that’s a huge plus for the movie. Music of the film is good; however two songs stand out from the lot i.e. Item Number Nahin Karoongi and Sajna.

The script of Teefa In Trouble is weak, jokes are, at places, forced. One of the major issues with Teefa In Trouble is that it doesn’t take off well. There’s fun in the film, things start to happen too easily as if everything was readily available in the most chaotic situation. The film has nothing to do with realistic approach and treatment; it’s a stylized film which emphasizes total entertainment and paisa-vasool ideology. There are multiple blunders in the film keeping the realistic element in the mind. Songs are mostly forced in the films specially “Item Number” it’s hard to digest the song as there was no sense associated with them. Ditto for the climax – the detailing is missing in the film.

For those who love brainless and stylized films where hero beats the shit out of baddies and starts to run, jump and hop with broken knee and ankle yet stays cool and flaunts his swag, Teefa In Trouble will be a delight. For those who go for sensible cinema with good script and engaging film, Teefa In Trouble won’t be as entertaining.

Teefa In Trouble has all the ingredients to do outstanding business at the box-office because it is made to cater masses.
