Akshay Kumar is one of the most loved and crazed celebrity and this is the reason why his movies do exceptionally well at the box office, irrespective of their script, subject, direction and content. Prabhu Deva and Akshay Kumar’s duo has already given a blockbuster back in 2012 i.e. Rowdy Rathore. Does it mean that Singh Is Bliing will be a blockbuster at the box office? Will this movie be as entertaining as their previous co-venture? Let’s explore.

Singh Is Bliing is about Raftaar Singh (Akshay), who lives in Bassi Patna (Punjab, India). Raftaar is carefree and careless but good at heart person. Raftaar’s father gives him two option, either marry his friends daughter or leave for Goa to work under his friends supervision. Raftaar leaves for Goa and he meets Sara (Amy Jackson), daughter of a Mafia King. Mark (Kay Kay Menon) was once insulted by Sara, so he wants vengeance from her. What happens next is all that Sing Is Bliing has to offer to its viewers. No brownie points for guessing what happens next by the way, it’s a typical predictable climax.

Singh Is Bliing is among those movies where performance, script, logic and sense don’t make any sense and are also not needed. Why? Because it’s a headless and senseless enterprise.  Akshay Kumar is in good form that’s why audience bears all the childish and absurd activities performed by him. Amy Jackson is, however good. She doesn’t have dialogues in Hindi at all but she manages to leave a mark. Her action sequences are very nicely done. Lara Dutta in a small role is okay. There isn’t much for a seasoned actress like her to display, in terms of performance.

Kay Kay Menon is one of the finest talents in Bollywood but he is literally wasted in Singh Is Bliing, (the same way he was wasted in Drona). After Haider and Rahasya, this is a let down from Menon. Rati Agnihotri is okay. Kareena Kapoor, Prabhu Deva and Sunny Leonne are shown in cameo.

Prabhu Deva’s previous release was Action Jackson, which didn’t do well at the box office. If Deva keeps on making movies like this, he seriously needs to work with stars, as only star-power can save his senseless movies from drowning. Music is as per the culture that is portrayed in the movie but it’s not something to brag about.

Singh Is Bliing is just a slapstick sort of humor with Singh-ness intensified in bits and pieces. Those who are thinking it would be something similar or close to Singh Is King – please refrain. The movie will do great in masses as it is way far from classes’ taste.
