There aren’t many Pakistani brands which go for the experimentation in terms of advertising and coming up with interesting concepts, every now and then we watch DVCs and TVCs (Digital & Video Television Commercials) which are just run of the mill but the recent video that is launched by Waves titled “Dadi Cool” is quite an exception. Waves brought back the legendary Bijli fame comedian and singer Bushra Ansari in action knowing the fact that she’s someone who can pull off different shades and awe her audience as well as her listeners. Dadi Cool is inspired from Boney M’s 1976’s unbeatable classic “Daddy Cool”, that song was a rage back then and is still loved by millions of music lovers.

The concept of “Dadi Cool” DVC is quite interesting as it shows two shades of a granny (Dadi), played by Bushra Ansari, from being a dull grandmother to a rocking and dancing on the beats grandma just after she opens up the Waves refrigerator and what happens next is a treat to watch and listen to. Bushra Ansari dances and sings amazingly, she successfully recreates the magic of the classic song and it’s a decent effort for sure. The brand team and advertising team deserves huge appreciation for pulling this entire concept off so well. Such interestingly made DVCs deserve to be appreciated as they are feel good efforts and audience enjoy them.

Waves is a well-known brand and has always came up with exciting and fascinating concepts. The tagline “Naam he kaafi hai” is famous and every kid can relate it with the brand; that’s the recall power which Waves has managed to create in the minds of the customers. From this new song, it’s obvious that Waves Pakistan has definitely up its game because the way “Dadi Cool” is directed and filmed it gives a very enthralling and upbeat look. From set design to vibrantly colored objects used in the video, it looks effective in terms of communicating the message that brand is trying to put forward i.e. ‘stay cool’. Even the costumes of Bushra Ansari and rest of the models which appeared in the music video are carefully designed and it goes with the concept of the message that is being communicated through the video.

All in all Dadi Cool is an amazing effort by Waves Pakistan, it’s under discussion because of multiple reasons; over social media it’s getting quite a traction and people are not only discussing it at large but are also making videos, which is a win for the brand to come up with such an idea that is widely loved and appreciated.
