Mubarakan Review – Brainless Entertainer

Anees Bazmee is known for films like No Entry, Welcome, Ready, Singh Is Kinng etc. His movies are full-on entertainers. Bazmee’s association with Anil Kapoor is also very old and this time he duo is back with Mubarakan. Mubarakan also features Arjun Kapoor in double role along with Ileana D’Cruz, Neha Sharma, Athiya Shetty, Pavan Malhotra, Ratna Pathak and Rahul Dev. Mubarakan promises to be a family entertainer, let’s see what the film has to offer to its audience.

Trailer Mubarakan:

Sanjay Kapoor and his wife have an accident and they die, leaving their identical infants (twins) Charan and Karan behind. Anil Kapoor as the youngest brother cannot bear the responsibility of the two kids and hands one to his sister Ratna Pathak in London and the other to his elder brother Pavan Malhotra in Punjab. There are many twists in the film. Charan ends up engaging Karan’s girlfriend Ileana D’Cruz whereas Charan’s girlfriend Neha Sharma shockingly attends their engagement party, invited by Karan to change the situation. And then there is Athiya Shetty whose father wants her to marry Karan. Mubarakan is full of confusions, watch it to explore all about a big fat Punjabi wedding in London.

Performance wise, Anil Kapoor is the essence of Mubarakan. Anil nails his character and is given with some hilarious lines as well, which he enacts remarkably. Arjun Kapoor is first-rate. Playing double role isn’t easy and Arjun Kapoor looks quite confident in pulling off both the roles brilliantly. Ileana looks hot, smart and sassy, she dazzles in the songs.

Neha Sharma has limited screen presence but she looks lovely. Athiya Shetty does justice with the character and looks authentic. Pavan Malhotra is great ditto for Ratna Pathak Shah.

Dialogues of Mubarakan are smartly penned. There are some dialogues, emotional and comic, which stay with the audience even after leaving the cinema halls. The screenplay is first rate. Anees Bazmee knows how to project an entertaining film, his film has nice script, good humor, glamour, drama and all the ingredients which are liked by is audience.

Mubarakan is one of those entertainers where you can give your mind a backseat, watch it laugh out loud and have 2.5 hours of entertainment. Mubarakan is not for those who find logic and sense in a film, it’s out and out a masala entertainer with only one focus i.e. to make audience smile or laugh.
