Three Most Engaging Plays Running On HUM TV
When it comes to artsy and classy plays, HUM TV’s name immediately comes to our mind. HUM TV has always maintained a standard in their content, their plays are usually neither over the top nor overly intense; grave issues are always addressed in a subtle manner. However, currently we don’t see much of quality serials like previous season. Still, there are three dramas currently running on HUM TV which should not be missed.
Raqeeb Se
One of the bests in the recent times, Raqeeb Se is artsy and super classy in terms of its performance and storytelling. One of the most appealing factors about this play is that it is based on unrequited love and the love story revolves around adults, something that is rarely shown on screens. Love has never been portrayed before in such light like in Raqeeb Se. Bee Gul has mastered in presenting a world where we love to live in and for that Kashif Nisar the director of the play deserves equal credit. Performances are incredible in Raqeeb Se, Noman Ijaz has brilliantly created an aura of Maqsood, the character around which the entire story revolves around. Showing empowered woman like Insha who has everything in control and she never loses her cool. The character of Hajra beautifully played by Sania Saeed, a woman who is so deprived of her husband’s love all her life but yet she is so welcoming towards her husband’s ladylove Sakina. I think we need to show more of such positive characters on screen. Raqeeb Se is a must watch serial as it has brilliant cast including Noman Ijaz, Sania Saeed, Hadiqa Kiani, Faryal Mehmood, Iqra Aziz , Salman Shahid and others. Particularly Hadiqa Kiani has nailed her character as Sakina. Secondly, the play has an element of suspense; we all are intrigued that why Hajra is being so good, she is too good to be believed so there must a back story of her. To unravel this mystery watch Raqeeb Se airing every Wednesday at HUM TV.
Raqs e Bismil
Directed by Wajahat Rauf and script is penned by Hashim Nadeem, Raqs e Bismil has a different premise. It is based on a passionate love story and the helplessness when the love is not materialized. Moosa the lead character played by super talented Imran Ashraf is what that makes this drama an interesting watch. Moosa’s portrayal keeps audiences hooked to the screen otherwise there are few flaws in direction and script as well. However, the story is still very gripping and it leaves audiences to crave for more. Another interesting thing about this play is that Momin Saqib the internet sensation is in the second lead as Issa. It airs every Friday at HUM TV and it’s an engaging watch.
Phaans
With just a few episodes down, Phaans is a gripping thriller which makes the audiences wonder who is the actual culprit. Penned by Samina Aijaz, the story revolves around a rape victim survivor played by Zara Noor Abbas as Zeba who works as a servant girl who gets raped and she is accusing a mentally challenged son of the house Sahil brilliantly played by Shehzaad Sheikh for raping her. It certainly makes the viewers think that how come a naive and mentally challenged guy can attempt such a heinous crime. This intriguing factor makes this play engaging otherwise the much annoyed sister rivalry sub plot also been part of the play which is a huge turn off. However, we all really want to know who is the actual culprit? Phaans airs every Saturday on HUM TV.
