The Donkey King – Loaded With Nostalgia
The Donkey King’s theatrical trailer is out recently, and what a trailer it is! It took me back to my childhood for various reasons. Kids from 80’s and 90’s can never forget the amount of laughter they (we) received from the legendary Ismail Tara (from 50/50 fame) and Afzal Khan (aka Jan Rambo) from one of the finest TV plays “Guest House”. The trailer of The Donkey King features the voices of these two mammoth laugh masters along with the veteran who is a homely name in Pakistan i.e. Hina Dilpazir. With such powerhouse of talents who’ll be lending their voices to the comical characters in an animated film it will be a definite treat. Here’s the theatrical trailer of The Donkey King;
The Donkey King Theatrical Trailer:
The trailer is very impressive and easily one of the best ones to come out from Pakistan (in the animated films’ category), why I claim this one of the best as it has more than many elements to talk about and appreciate. For instance the music (background score) of the trailer is brilliantly created by Shani Arshad. The music lifts up the mood and helps in engagement, which in itself is a great accomplishment. In Pakistan, not many films are backed with this kind of background score.
The trailer is supremely loaded with nostalgic elements, those who have played video games in 80’s and 90’s can recall one of the most successful videos games from that era “The Donkey Kong“, the name of this Pakistani animated film reminds of that. Ismail Tara is one of those actors who has always been praised and loved by his fans and audience for molding his voice’s texture to suit the character and the veteran comedian never fails to impress and never kneels down in front of any challenge that is thrown at him.
Jan Rambo, Afzal Khan, has his unique and very casual style of portraying characters and he uses his voice to add substance and “that peculiar element” to his character. Hina Dilpazir, on the other hand, is the master of disguise and can play with her vocal chords with unmatched brilliance. This team will definitely bring down the kids and even elders with laughter.
The Donkey King by Talisman Studios, GEO Films and Aziz Jindani (Commander Safeguard fame) seems to have all that takes to bring smile and laughs for the audience. Even the tagline of the film is “A Fun film For All Ages“.
Let’s hope that this animated film do good at the box office.
