First things first, there is no match between The Big Bull and The Scam 1992. Why? Well, there are many reasons behind that. Let’s explore those reasons first before starting the review in a little depth.

Scam is directed by Hansal Mehta, the director is not only class apart but treats his ventures by diving deep in the subject. Comparing his work with The Big Bull’s director is a little injustice to Mehta.

Secondly, The Big Bull is a film and not a web-series, hence there are many things that are rushed upon in the film as compared to The Scam 1992.

The Big Bull is loaded with star power with Abhishek Bachchan, Ileana D’Cruz and Ajay Devgan combination. So, such projects usually don’t have the dedication and finesse as one can expect from fresher team. The Big Bull is grand in terms of execution, dialogues and shots sans substance.

A few things that genuinely stand out in The Big Bull include Abhishek A. Bachchan’s acting, Saurabh Shukla’s taunts and sarcasm, and Mahesh Manjrekar’s solid cameo. Abishek Bachchan gives  decent performance and there is no similarity between his previous, critically acclaimed film, Guru and The Big Bull. If junior Bachchan would have better dialogues, he might have excelled more. The scene where he talks about the painting is a glimpse of his one of the mature performances.

The Big Bull lacks the punchlines and seeti-worthy dialogues. The direction is mediocre and execution of the film is boring. The script could have been better and the realistic touch would have added some believability.

Soham Shah is dependable and acts well in his character. Ileana is below average and her makeup is disturbing. Supriya Pathak is wasted in a meaningless character.

All in all, The Big Bull is bearable because of 3 actor’s performances. Watch it if you are a fan of Harshad Mehta, as in this movie he is depicted as the hope and hero of INDIA.
