So Wednesdays are for the big clashes on ARY Digital Jalan is airing and on Hum TV Mohabbat Tujhe Alvida is airing at the same time slot. I thought to do a double feature this time and see how this goes. Thanks to my editor, for agreeing on this idea.

The second episode of Mohabbat Tujhe Alvida is quite under-cooked. Why? There are many reasons, let’s explore them one by one. The first episode of Mohabbat Tujhe Alvida ended with a lack of clarity and 2^nd episode started with confusion. Looks like the makers fast forwarded and chopped a few scenes. There can be abruptness felt in the transition. Moreover, the performance of Sonya Hussyn in the first 15 minutes of the 2^nd episode is totally alien to the character that she is shown playing. 2 scenes down, she is seen performing similar to Judaai’s Sridevi again. It seems way too immature to show a man who just got looted at gun-point shown more worried about what her wife would say or feel if he failed to gift her “Jhumkas” which he promised. Come on, for the class that Zahid Ahmed is playing 75,000/- PKR is a hell of an amount! No? And in that situation, he brings the gift for her, wow; simply unrealistic.

Mohabbat Tujhe Alvida Episode 2

The track between Mansha Pasha and Zahid Ahmed by no means looks professionally realistic. Writer and director needed to understand before the execution of the scenes that there is a language that is used in professional organizations. Neither the tone, nor the communication between a newly arrived rigid boss and the employees are like that. The second episode was more of fluff stuffed with background score, stretched scenes and boring reverberation. Mohabbat Tujhe Alvida needs to pace up, else it will become boring for the general audience.

Let’s discuss Jalan now the drama serial is airing on ARY Digital and features Areeba Habib (Misha) and Minal Khan (Nisha) playing sisters. Nisha is engaged to Ahmer (Fahad Shaikh), and he is head over heel on her. Asfand (Emmad Irfani) spots Misha in a function and falls for her at first glance. Asfand and Misha get married but Nisha wants to have Asfand in her life. And for this she can go to any extreme.

The character of Nisha is nicely developed in first episode, she is not a good soul (for sure) but the way her character is showcased is impressive. Hats off to the writer and director; I don’t think anyone will have a soft corner for Nisha’s character. She is shown greedy, ruthless, cunning and disrespectful who is always busy in plotting something new – only for her good. Although the drama received a lot of negative feedback based on the subject i.e. a homewrecker younger sister trying to eye her elder brother in law just because he is filthy rich but the execution and performances are decent. Let’s see what the upcoming episodes will have in store.
