The tried and tested way to launch any superstar in Bollywood is quite simple and that is to make a romantic film which has lots of melodious songs, some good dance numbers, high voltage drama and class difference. Bobby, Betaab, Love Story, Ek Duje Ke Liye, Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak, Maine Pyar Kiya, Kaho Na Pyar Hai, and many other films were based on the same plot. Loveyatri, ealier named as Loveratri, is also based on the same plot. Aayush Sharma and Warina Hussain are launched in this film which is produced by Salman Khan Films. Let’s see what this film has to offer.

Loveyatri Trailer:

Loveyatri revolves around Sushrut aka SUSU (Aayush Sharma). Susu wants to open a Garba Academy; he doesn’t have major goals and objectives in life. In the 9 day celebration of Nauratri, Susu meets Manisha aka Michel (Warina Hussain) who visits from London to spend Nauratri with her paternal family. Love blossoms between them with the help of Rama Mama (Ram Kapoor) but soon enters the villain of the story, Sameer aka Sam (Ronit Roy) who is Manisha’s father and what happens next after a brief encounter between Susu and Sam is what Loveyatri is all about.

Performance wise Aayush Sharma is unoriginal; probably being his first film he borrowed mannerism from brother in law Salman Khan, from the times of Patthar Ke Phool, Sanam Bewafa and Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. On top of that, Aayush also reminds of Aamir Khan’s way of dialogue delivery in comic scenes from films like Andaz Apna Apna, Jo Jeeta Wahi Sikandar and Love Love Love. Unfortunately, besides a little bit of dancing, Aayush Sharma fails to make an impact. Sharma seems to have a long way to go as he needs to work on his expressions, delivery, hairdo and adding realistic feeling to his character.

Warina Hussain looks good but that is just about it. In her first Bollywood movie she is mostly seen expressionless. Ram Kapoor and Ronit Roy are two very dependable and decent actors; they have given some brilliant performances in the past. It’s sad to see such talents going to total waste. Not even a single dialogue of these two seasoned actors stands out, and the credit, for this, goes to director and writer.

Music of the film is unbearable. It misses the feel and connection. Chords of lovebirds don’t move with kind of music Loveyatri album offers. Direction is mediocre.

Loveyatri Movie Review:

Loveyatri comes nowhere close to the films mentioned above where actors like Rishi Kapoor, Sunny Deol, Kumar Gaurav, Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, Hrithik Roshan or even Bobby Deol were launched as main leads. In totality Loveyatri is a severe letdown.
