J.P. Dutta’s Paltan’s Trailer Out – Weak Show

J.P. Dutta is known for war films, films which showcase patriotism, Muslims standing for their borders irrespective of any bias attitude towards Pakistan and Hindus talking loads of devoted speeches for their motherland. Whether it’s Border or LOC Kargil, the filmmaker made a very decent attempt to make war film and bring is close to life. However J.P. Dutta miserably failed when he tried to recreate the magic of Umrao Jaan Ada; that was a total disaster. J.P. Dutta is back with another war based film titled Paltan. For a change this time the film is not about India – Pakistan war but India and China. Based on 1967’s fight between India and China which was a resultant of 1962’s defeat faced by China in the warfare, Paltan is loaded with the new recruits headed by a few experienced actors from Bollywood.

Unlike Border’s trailer and LOC Kargil’s the trailer of Paltan is weak on many grounds; it fails to connect with the audience, it lacks punches and patriotic impact. Dialogues however sound very patriotic but unfortunately they aren’t delivered with nice impact. There’s Jackie Shroff, Arjun Rampal and Sonu Sood from the senior lot of actors along with the newcomers like Luv Sinha, Sidhant Kapoor, Gurmeet Choudhary and Harshwardhan Kapoor.

The trailer doesn’t make an impactful entry and this is the reason why the buzz is quite low regarding the new film of J.P. Dutta. A few actors and directors from the Bollywood fraternity came forward to support the trailer of Paltan on Twitter and that’s what they have to say about J.P. Dutta’s upcoming venture.

Let’s see what this film has to offer to its audience, Paltan is releasing on 7th September, 2018.
