Cheekh Episode 2 Review
With an ending like first episode of Cheekh, audience was pumped up to know what happened to Ushna Shah, whether she was pushed from the rooftop or she actually tried to commit suicide! With the second episode which aired on Saturday 12th of January, 2019 it’s still a riddle. The second episode of Cheekh is filled with some interesting performances. Although there’s abundance of unnecessary loud music playing at the background and close-up shots that’s wasting the time; the pace could have been a lot faster for a more engaging outcome. But it probably the way makers want the drama to proceed.
Saba Qamar excels in a few scenes and once again shows that she’s an apt selection for conveying emotional scenes impressively, as compared to lighthearted and fun scenes. Saba’s expressions and ambulance and in the hospital were excellent. Noor ul Hasan performs his part with utmost ease and impresses his audience with high dose of emotional burst. These two actors from the second episode stand tall in terms of performance. Plus, the actress playing Noor ul Hasan’s wife is commendable in the scene at the hospital. She takes the scene to the next level with her effortless and to the point performance.
Bilal Abbas doesn’t impress with his scenes, he just looks good. Aijaz Aslam is decent but the way he’s directed and scenes develop his performance takes a backseat and all one can imagine is “why so slow dramatization?”
Nayyar Ejaz as the police inspector is weird on many levels, from the way his character is developed to the way he performs in many scenes, credit goes to the writer and then the director for ruining that.
Although in the second episode the narration style tries to show two to three possible-culprits behind Ushna’s assault, let’s see what the future episode will bring.
