In the world that we live in, everyone at one point in time is wronged. Sometimes it is by the loved ones, relatives, and people whom we hardly know. The backdrop of Bulbbul is somewhat based on the same subject. Bulbbul addresses many issues that are prevailing in the society and they are mostly not taken seriously. Bulbbul features some of the most noteworthy actors of Bengali cinema like Rahul Bose, Paoli Dam, Parambarata Chatterjee, and ravishing Tripti Dimri with Avinash Tiwari. Let’s find out what writer/director Anvita Dutt and Anushka Sharma duo has in store for their viewers after Philauri and Pari.

Trailer Bulbbul:

The devil is in the detail and this holds true when you watch Bulbbul. The scenes are aesthetically designed and shot, as every frame is trying to tell a story by presenting the hints and missing parts to the viewers. Whether they are dialogue, pauses, and looks of the characters they tell quite a lot about the tale that Anvita Dutt showcases.

Rahul Bose is one of the finest performers who never fails to astound his audience and fans. Bose displays a wide range of emotions with flawless maturity for which he is always known. Tripti Dimri is effective for the character of Bulbbul and plays her part well, her journey from what she was to what she becomes is both justified and takes a good character arc. The emotional connection between Bulbbul builds gradually but unknowingly – and that’s the beauty of the tale and the character of Bulbbul.

Paoli Dam gives a power-packed performance and looks the character. The “Chup rehna” scene between her and Tripti is such realistically written that viewers can feel the pain both women must have gone through in their lives.

Avinash Tiwari looks good, his character demanded the looks, friendly aura, and style to look different and classy – and he carries that all very well. As Satya, Tiwari is first-rate. Parambrata Chatterjee does a decent job as the Doctor.

The background score of Bulbbul is intriguing and very nicely created. Amit Trivedi does a wonderful job.

Bulbbul is a decent film that goes through a few downsides as well. For many, the film is way too predictable and the element of surprise subsides with every scene as the film proceeds. A few scenes give a fair idea of what will happen next and the excitement level fizzle down gradually. In the climax, the angle of reality falters to a greater extent and the audience wonder that it cannot be possible. These might be the reasons why Bulbbul is receiving mixed responses and viewers thought it would have been a horror film (as it was promoted and trailer-ed like that) but it is more of a psychological thriller.
