As much as we want to stay indoors in the AC in this Karachi heat, the truth is that we have things to do and places to be every single day! There is no way to avoid going to the university or to work, no matter how hot it gets (40 degrees hot to be exact, ugh!). And the last thing you want to inflict on people in this heat is BO or body odour (ew!)

Being the perfume fanatic that I am, I thought this is the perfect time to help a sister out and list five of my favourite scents to wear in the heat and humidity. When reading this list, keep in mind that fragrance is very personal and you might no necessity like every perfume that I recommend, so always take recommendations like these with a grain of salt.

1 – Fleur de Pecher by Karl Lagerfeld

2 – Floral Drops by Dolce & Gabbana

This fragrance comes in both EDT and EDP – I find the EDP a little overpowering so I bought the EDT and guess what, I love it! It is by all means a floral perfume, so for my chicas that prefer a hint of fruitiness in their fragrances, this may not be it! But if you like fresh florals you will love this little gem. Dolce and Gabanna is a little bit up there in price but this scent is definitely worth the money in my book.

Talk about peachy goodness! For those of you who don’t know, Karl Lagerfeld is the creative director of the brand Chanel. So he’s definitely a man with great taste and this perfumes proves that. If you are into fruity florals that last long and smell like summer in a bottle you will love this fragrance. It has a really good longevity and smells very youthful so perfect for wearing to the university every day. And even though the top note is described as Pear in this perfume, I can swear that it smells peachy to me.

3 – Versace Yellow Diamond

I think more than half the woman population on this planet has owned some version of these Versace perfumes and I don’t blame them. This range of fragrances is very well put together and speaks to a diverse demographic around the globe! I purchased mine to take to Thailand in July and have been wearing it off and on since then. The top note in Versace Yellow Diamond is citrus which, as we all know, is perfect for summer time. I also quite enjoy the green base notes that come out after a few hours of wear. The longevity on this perfume is very good so perfect to wear to the office!

4 – Bvlgari Omnia Crystalline

Being the perfume snob that I am, I have a very strict rule of never wearing scents with musky notes in summer time and avoiding any purely fruity scents in winter. But The Bvlgari Omnia Crystalline is one fragrance that I think works in all seasons. The opening that I get on my skin is a beautiful pear and the drydown is a mildly woody with a strong lotus blossom as the base note and boy oh boy do I love it! I usually never buy the same scent twice but I am on the second bottle of this one! And the best part I think is that it suits all age groups.

5 – Very Irresistible L’Eau en Rose by Givenchy

For all my ladies out there who love a slight hint of rose in their perfumes, this fragrance is about to be your best friend! Givenchy has come out with so many perfumes in the Very Irresistible range, and this is definitely my favourite for hotter weather in the entire range. It opens with blackberry and rose and dries down to a powdery, slightly sour scent. I don’t this perfume is for everybody as rose is definitely not everyone’s cup of tea!
