So the latest buzz about Alia Bhatt’s new music videos titled “Prada” in association with Doorbeen (Lambherghini fame) is that it is a copy of Pakistani pop band Vital Sign’s Goray Rung Ka Zamana sung by Junaid Jamshaid (late). According to Pakistani audience and music fanatics the tone of Prada is hugely inspired from Vital Sign’s chart-buster from 90’s. Well, I don’t think that the buzz holds any weight. There’s no point of comparison to be very honest. But before diving deeper let’s listen to the song Prada first;

One can feel the similarity in the tone, I don’t argue with that but the tune and the way the tone of the music of Paada proceeds cannot be termed as a ditto copy. In fact there’s another song sung by Asha Bhosle titled “Koi Sehari Babu” for the Dharmendra and Mumtaz starrer block buster from 70’s titled “Loafer”, which actually sounds DITTO to Prada. Here’s the video of the song watch and listen to it – this song was also one of the most famous one from the era.

Now you can judge better yourself. Those who think Prada is copied from Vital Sign’s Goray Rung Ka Zamana which was released in 1990 then will they be ready to accept that the same song Pakistani pop band was also copied from 1973’s movie Loafer i.e. Koi Sehari Babu? and are willing to accept that Pakistani song which ruled the charts was not original? Decide it yourself.

By the way the same song Koi Sehari Bu was redone by Jonita Gandhi back in late 90’s when Saregama was in to remixing Bollywood-classics for Millennium-crazed listeners, here watch it.
