The thriller Phaans airing at HUM TV is still carrying the suspense element  perfectly well in the play, although picture is more clearer now but still there is too much to unfold. In this episode we have seen that Zeba’s own mother has given her the medicine so she can lose her pregnancy. Why Zeba’s mother has done such a blunder ? it is making no sense, even if she is doubting that it is Zeba’s and Samad’s illegitimate child then being her mother she should take her daughter into full confidence. This loophole in the story seems like a flaw, as it is not gelling well with Zeba’s mother’s character and secondly why she has not talked directly with Zeba before taking such a disastrous step.

Zeba’s ugly sister finally marries Hashim. Zeba’s sister is portrayed as a thorough vile woman who has no empathy nor feelings for her sister’s sufferings. Zeba is still loving and caring her but she is not even care to smile at her. This portrayal of sisterhood is leaving such a bad taste to this story, wondering that story might go well even when her sister is not shown that vile. Hashim’s traumatic recalling of Zeba’s pleading words on his Wedding night speak volumes about his intense guilt. Even if Hashim has not committed that sin, he must be an eye witness , he is hiding the truth. Well in that case his sudden decision to marry his ex fiancé’s sister who he initially has no feelings for seems so unreal.

Sahil’s activities makes us think that he is the one. Well when the victim herself names Sahil as her rapist then there is no doubt left that he is the one who has committed such heinous crime. Furthermore the entry of a young new female help in the house has cleared the picture more. The way Sahil looks at her and trying to act as if her presence is disturbing him tells us that he certainly has some shady instincts. However Sahil’s father seems equally shady at times, the ending scene where Sahil’s mother dreams that her husband is harassing their new maid and when she wakes up she sees that her husband is not in bed. She sees that the maid is sound sleep, her husband suddenly appears and he taunts her for doubting him. Well it all makes us intrigued to know who is the actual culprit Father or son?
