Mein Maa Nahin Banna Chahti – Episode 1 Review

There has been quite a buzz about HUM TV’s new TV play titled Mein Maa Nahin Banna Chahti, based on the name of the drama people are sharing mixed opinion about it. To get the first hand idea of what the drama is all about MediaMagick has decided to review it exclusively and share the review of the very first episode of Mein Maa Nahin Banna Chahti which aired on 18th October, 2017. So, here is the review of the first episode of MMNBC.

The story revolves around Azhar’s family who has 2 daughters, Imaan and Aleena plus an adopted son Faaris who takes care of his shop and is treated with love and care by Azhar and his wife. Unfortunately, Azhar’s mother and sister don’t regard Faaris at all and they think that Faaris is still an outsider and servant who shouldn’t be given too much of respect and esteem. Jibran is Azhar’s nephew and is interested in Imaan, Jibran doesn’t visit the shop and is quite laid back, as depicted in the first episode of MMNBC. It is clearly shown that Jibran thinks about Faaris as his employee and nothing else.

Imaan is interested in Faaris and enjoys similar feelings from his end as well but Faaris but wants to prove himself before asking for her hand from her father. Jibran has feelings for Imaan and wants to marry her but his mother isn’t willing. On the other hand, Maaham is head over heels for Jibran and asks her mother to talk to Jibran’s mother about their marriage.

So far the plot is quite interestingly weaved and Pareesa Siddiqui (story writer) and Mustafa Hashmi (scriptwriter) have tried to incorporate the relatable scenario which Pakistan’s culture goes through mostly. The story depicts multiple angles encompassing plotting of schemes to blossoming romance, and gratitude to trust factor being questioned. The scenes are calculated so far and this makes the drama fast paced – which is very good as many characters have been introduced in the first episode of Mein Maa Nahin Banna Chahti along with their traits.

Direction wise Furqan Adam has done a decent job as MMNBC is nicely shot i.e. indoor and outdoor scenes are well executed. The framing is a plus point of MMNBC. Let’s see what this drama has to unfold in future as it has managed to create interest of the viewers and has proven itself as an engaging first episode.

Imaan looks fresh and gorgeous as per her character. The character of Faaris is very well portrayed in terms of performance; varied shades have been portrayed quite nicely. Jibran is good. Maaham is a little over but that’s probably how her character is, we’ll have to find it out in upcoming episodes.
