Baat Cheet – Invited At 2015 Cannes Film Festival
Pakistan is known for talented artists and entertainers. Recently, a Pakistani short film titled ‘Baat Cheet‘ aka Tête-à-Tête is selected by Cannes Films to be featured and participated in the Short Film Corner at the most prestigious and renowned Cannes Film Festival, for the year 2015. The think tank behind Baat Cheet is Rayika Choudri (writer, director and producer). The short film featured Joshinder Chaggar and Sarwat Gilani in prominent characters.
The plot of Baat Cheet revolves around two friends Anjum and Mehreen who reside in Karachi, the city of Pakistan. Their communication starts to bring into discussion of various topics, sharing and chit-chatting about the ways in which individuals face some great hurdles in their so-called-mediocre lives.
Baat Cheet has won 3 gold awards at the Documentary & Short International Movie Awards 2015 (Indonesia) in directing, newcomer and international short film categories.
Now the 68th annual Cannes Film Festival is scheduled to be held from 13 to 24 May 2015 in France.
All the best to Misha Rezvi (assistant director) and Rayika Choudri (director/writer/producer) of Baat Cheet.
