7 Din Mohabbat In Movie Review: A Sure-shot HIT
With their first film, Zinda Bhaag, they proved that they had potential to make good films; with their second film, Jeevan Haathi, they proved that disasters are part of life. Farjad and Meenu are now back with 7 Din Mohabbat In with actors like Javed Sheikh, Mahira Khan, Shehryar Munawwar and Hina Dilpazir. Not only this, dialogues of this film are written by Fasih Bari Khan. Fasih is known for wittiest and hard-hitting dramas, let’s see what this team has for the Pakistani audience. Sheheryar Munawwar and Mahira Khan will be working for the end time together in 7 Din Mohabbat In after Ho Mann Jahaan. Let’s explore!
7 Din Mohabbat In revolves around a timid, coy and meek Tipu (Sheheryar Munawwar) who dreams about becoming the cool dude and heartthrob of the neighborhood. But things don’t work in his favor; Neeli (Mahira Khan) is Tipu’s cousin and lives with him and his mother (Hina Dilpazir). Neeli loves Tipu but is engaged to Naseer Kankatta (Aamir Qureshi), who’s a goon of the locality. One day depressed and frustrated Tipu encounters a meeting with a roadside magician and he hands him over a lamp which has the capability to change Tipu’s life. In lamp lives Djinn, named Dwarka Prasad (Javed Sheikh). When the Djinn comes out of his lamp Tipu’s life starts to change and in his life enters Ghazala (Amna Ilyas) and Princess Sonu (Mira Sethi). What happens next is immense dose of laughter, drama, emotion, comedy of errors and (at places) headless entertainment.
7 Din Mohabbat In clearly belongs to the Djinn of the film and that is Javed Sheikh. Sheikh is impeccable as Dwarka Prasad, he showcases multiple characters and oozes wrath in a few scenes. One of the most impressive roles of Javed Sheikh is of Dwarka Prasad’s. The other strong foundation of 7DMI is Fasih Bari Khan; his writing is first rate, it’s fresh, witty, to the point and realistic. Ever dialogue is smartly penned and cleverly placed.
Sheheryar Munawwar gives his first impressive performance with this film; he underplays his part very well. Most people were, before the release of the film, comparing him with Koi Mil Gaya’s Hrithik Roshan but in reality it isn’t the case at all. Sheheryar is pretty decent as Tipu. Mahira Khan is a revelation. No she isn’t any extension of Geet’s character (Kareena Kapoor’s Jab We Met), Mahira is authentic and wins the show with her over the top performance. Yes, her character needed a little loudness and on the face sort of expressions and exclamations and she delivers it well.
Hina Dilpazir is as usual, watch her in Quddoosi Sahib Ki Bewa or any other drama by Fasih Bari Khan, she has done the same on the silver screen as well. Aamir Qureshi is the surprise package with very few scenes, but he is good. Amna Ilyas and Mira Sethi are okay as per their characters.
7 Din Mohabbat In is a clean family entertainer with lots of fun, interesting storyline and quite impressive direction. This film is one of those kinds which anyone from the masses would love to watch in cinema at Eid. The music is okay, and goes with the flow of the film. The item song was not needed in the film.
This Eid, 7 Din Mohabbat In will be loved by the masses because of its script, feel good approach and performances. This is one of the authentic Pakistani films which have relatable dialogues, good humor and effective filmmaking.
